Why Is Custom Important For You?

So many freelancers and web agencies use generic templates to speed up their workflow. Go Vertical starts from scratch on every project.

Tailored to Your Brand Identity

A custom website can be fully designed to align with your unique brand, reflecting your specific colours, fonts, and design elements that resonate with your target audience.
While templates may look appealing at first, they often lack the flexibility to showcase your brand’s distinct identity, leading to a generic or uninspired feel.

Improved User Experience

With a custom design, your website can be optimized for your audience's needs, ensuring that navigation, content layout, and interactive elements are intuitive and efficient.
Templates are designed to be generic, which means they may not always prioritize your audience’s specific journey or the most effective calls to action for your business.

Better Performance and Speed

Custom websites are built with optimized code and functionality, ensuring faster load times and a smoother experience for visitors, which can positively impact SEO and user retention.
Templates often include extra, unnecessary code and plugins, which can slow down your website and negatively impact performance.

Scalability and Flexibility

A custom site can be developed with future growth in mind, allowing for easier scalability as your business expands. You can add new features or modify the site’s structure without compromising performance.
Premade templates may not be as flexible or adaptable as your business grows. Customizations or additional features can be difficult or costly to implement within the confines of a template.

SEO Optimization

With a custom WordPress website, you can implement SEO best practices from the ground up, including clean code, faster page load times, and strategic content placement tailored to your target keywords.
Templates may not be built with SEO in mind. They can often be bloated with unnecessary features, slowing down the site and reducing your chances of ranking high on search engines.

Security and Updates

A custom site allows you to control security features and ensure that the site is regularly updated to minimize vulnerabilities.
Templates can become outdated or insecure, especially if not regularly maintained, which can expose your site to potential hacks or malware.

Unique Functionality

A custom website allows you to integrate bespoke functionalities, such as specialized forms, custom-built tools, or e-commerce features, to meet the exact needs of your business.
Templates are built for a broad audience, and while they may include some customizable features, they might not support highly specific functionalities without significant modification or third-party plugins.

No Overcrowding with Unnecessary Features

A custom-built website includes only the features and tools you need, keeping the site streamlined and easy to manage.
Templates often come with extra features that can clutter the user experience and introduce performance issues.

Ongoing Support and Maintenance

Working with Go Vertical means you have access to ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance tailored to your site’s unique needs.
With templates, support can be minimal and often comes from forums or general documentation, which can make it difficult to resolve issues efficiently.

Ownership and Control

With a custom website, you own the code and design outright, giving you full control over your site. If you need to migrate or make significant changes, it’s easier to do so without being locked into a template framework.
When using a template, you are often restricted to the template’s framework and may not have complete control over its structure or layout. Some may even have licensing terms that limit how you can use or modify them.

The Time Is Now.

Our Website Process

When you choose to work with Go Vertical to build your new website, here's what you can anticipate.

Our goal is to ensure a smooth and effortless process for our clients. We like to meet in person whenever possible, but we can also accommodate your schedule with video calls or phone calls.

1. Project Scope
As we evaluate your new website project, our aim is to determine the complete project scope and understand your ideal objectives and requirements. This will enable us to deliver a precise estimate and offer solutions that align with your business goals.
2. Planning
Once the project scope is established and you have chosen to work with us on your project, we will create a shared planning board that will allow us to collaborate - no more lost emails! This board will outline the tasks that we are both responsible for and will give us some insight into your design style.
3. Design
Now we are getting to the fun stage! As we conclude the planning stage, our design team will examine the planning board and develop preliminary website design mockups for us to evaluate collectively. This process will enable you to visualize the website design and layout, and determine whether we are on the right path or if any revisions are necessary before proceeding to website development.
4. Development
Once you are happy with the design and layout, we are prepared to begin the website development phase. During the development process, minor adjustments may be made as we transform the graphical design concept into a functional website complete with animation and ensuring optimization for mobile devices and key screen sizes. You will have the opportunity to review for any necessary revisions and refine the content once the draft site is completed. We never proceed to launch a website until the client is ready and fully satisfied!
5. Launch
Let's set a launch date! We will coordinate with you to select a date for the website launch. Our launch checklist will ensure that the website is secure and up to date, integrated with Google Analytics, and set up with our maintenance plan.
6. Lifecycle
We are dedicated to supporting you even after the website launch, in whatever capacity you need. We are happy to teach you how to handle updates on your own, or you can send them all our way and we’ll take care of them! We will host and maintain your website to ensure its optimal health and upkeep, and you will receive a monthly Google Analytics report to stay informed about your website traffic statistics. We also offer SEO and Digital Marketing services to help you enhance your online presence and reach a wider audience if desired.

Ready To Take The Next Step?

Here’s Some FAQs We Often Get Asked

I’m not ready to build a new website yet, are you able to take over my existing website?

Sure thing! We can facilitate getting your existing website onto our servers to host, maintain, and provide updates as needed. If you are looking at a renovation project, we will analyze the existing website and provide our best recommendations and options for renovating.

Am I able to edit the website myself after it is live?

Absolutely! We will provide you with an administrative WordPress login and will show you how to make text/image changes as well as manage any crucial components of the website such as an e-commerce store, booking tool, blog or podcast pages. If you want to make changes to the website design and structure down the road, we are happy to help out with these more advanced changes.

Are you able to edit a non-WordPress website?

Sure thing! While our core focus is on WordPress, we can certainly edit your existing website. We have worked on other common website platforms including Wix, Weebly, Square, Shopify, custom coded websites and more!

How much does a website cost?

There are several factors that will determine this and we will need to understand your business goals and requirements to provide an accurate quote. We always look to provide multiple price point options when it is possible and provide a solution that is both practical and functional.

Are your websites mobile friendly?

Yes! We fully optimize our websites for mobile devices as well as other key screen sizes including tablets, laptops and desktop.

When you set up our website, would you also be able to create email addresses for us?

Yes! There are a few options for this, but we typically will set clients up with either Google Workspace or Microsoft Office 365 accounts, based on their preferences between Gmail and Outlook. If these licenses don't fit in your budget, there are a couple other economical solutions for a basic email inbox that we can set you up with.
